چکیده
Cellulose acetate (CA) as polymer, glycerol derivatives (namely triacetin, diacetin, monoacetin or glycerol-formal) solvents and 2-methyltetrahydrofuran (2-MeTHF) co-solvent were selected bio-based ingredients for the preparation of full-bio-based nanofiltration membranes via non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS). Membrane performance was investigated using an aqueous rose bengal (1017Da) solution (RB/H2O) feed. morphologies characterized SEM (scanning electron microscopy). Both kinetic thermodynamic aspects inversion process studied in detail to gain more insight membrane formation process. When implementing a 90s evaporation step prior coagulation, rejection increased with increasing 2-MeTHF concentration casting case diacetin triacetin solvents. In glycerol-formal based solutions, had less significant impact on RB even though same volatile used. The best finally obtained solvent permeances ranging from 5.5 12.8 L/m2 h bar >90% rejections.

Preparation and Characterization of Antibacterial Cellulose/Chitosan Nanofiltration Membranes
Presently, most nanofiltration membranes are prepared with non-biodegradable petrochemical materials. This process is harmful to the ecosystem and consumes a large amount of non-renewable energy. In this study, biodegradable and biocompatible antibacterial cellulose/chitosan nanofiltration membranes (BC/CS-NFMs) were fabricated and characterized for their mechanical strength, antimicrobial acti...

Several novel composite membranes were prepared to separate and recycle amoxicillin from pharmaceutical wastewater via nanofiltration process. The synthesis of these membranes included three stages: 1- preparation of polysulfone ultrafiltration membranes as a support via phase separation process, 2- modification of its surface by interfacial polymerization as a selective layer (polyamide), and ...

In this work, cellulose acetate (CA) nanofiltration (NF) membranes were prepared via non-solvent phase inversion technique (NIPS). Polymer concentration was varied from 22 to 25 wt% in order to study its effect on the membrane properties. The fabricated membranes were characterized in terms of morphological analysis using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), contact angle, water content, water p...
